Security officials are preparing for the Chinese president’s Thursday arrival at the Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa and have installed barriers along A1A and East Ocean Avenue.
The barriers are not restricting residents and visitors from being able to walk around the area, however.
On Tuesday afternoon, a group of Chinese young adults studying in Florida came to the area and snapped photos of the Eau. Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago after he arrives.
The group was excited to be in the Lantana/Manalapan area and proud that their president is coming to town.
“It’s exciting for everyone, not only Chinese people,” said Mo Zheng, 26. Zheng is from Shangai and is studying at Florida International University.
The Chinese president is expected to leave Friday.
