Residents can learn about the project at a workshop Tuesday night at the Town of Ocean Ridge, 6450 N. Ocean Blvd. The workshop, held by the Florida Department of Transportation, is 4:30 pm. to 6:30 p.m. Attendees can arrive at anytime; there is no formal presentation.
Here are some details: The painting begins April 24 and is expected to end this fall; It will cost $1 million, and work is being done by Seminole Equipment, Inc., with RS&H, Inc.
- The contractor wants to work 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily, through early fall. Lane closures would take place Monday through Saturday.
- The contractor could also work Sundays, as needed, but not on holidays.
- Also, in order to paint the tips of the bridge, the contractor has been approved to close the bridge for up to 10 nights. A detour route will be in place.
