DELRAY BEACH — Hundreds of homes along Delray Beach’s coastline and just west of the city are without power after severe overnight weather, according to Florida Power & Light.
The company expects all power to be restored by 9 a.m, with some areas getting power back as early as 7:30 a.m.
More than 100 homes in the northeast portion of the city, including homes east of the Intracoastal, lost power just before 3 a.m. About 75 homes and businesses in downtown Delray Beach south of Atlantic Avenue also lost power just before 3 a.m.
Some homes near Barwick Road as well as west of Military Trail are also without power, FPL reports. Crews have been dispatched to the areas, and the exact cause of the power-loss is under investigation.

A tornado watch and tornado warning were issued for Palm Beach County overnight, but cancelled by 4 a.m. The National Weather Service says to expect a breezy day with possible gusty showers in the afternoon.
