BOCA RATON — Want beer, wine or frozen cocktails while you watch your favorite summer blockbuster? Patrons at Boca Raton’s popular Cinemark Palace 20 theater will soon be able to buy and drink alcoholic beverages during movie screenings after a theater remodel.

The theater is building an upscale lobby bar, as well as adding luxury seating to all of the auditoriums and building a new restaurant on the second floor of the theater, at 3200 Airport Road. The Boca Raton Cinemark will stay open during the remodel, which is expected to be completed by summer.

Bogart’s Bar & Grille, a luxury eatery once tucked on the second level of the movie theater, is now closed. In its place, the Cinemark Movie Bistro will open, and will offer dishes like sliders, flatbreads, burgers, fish tacos and other seafood dishes.

The theater will upgrade all auditoriums with “Luxury Loungers,” electric-powered, plush, over-sized lounge chairs with footrests and cup holders, according to Cinemark. The theater will also soon offer reserved seating for those who want to book a place in advance.

“The Cinemark Palace 20 and XD Theatre has been a popular entertainment destination and a big part of the community for many years,” Bryan Jeffries,  Cinemark’s vice president of marketing and promotions, said in an email. “Our new Cinemark Movie Bistro, Luxury Lounger recliners and lobby bar will be great additions at this theatre. With the exciting slate of movies planned for 2017, we know our guests will continue to select Cinemark as its preferred destination for enjoying Hollywood’s biggest movies.”
