BOCA RATON — Nature’s Way Cafe with its healthy wraps, salads and smoothies has expanded south.

The cafe opened its seventh, and southernmost, location on Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton campus last week, according to its franchisee.

The eatery, at 3731 FAU Blvd., is housed at FAU’s Research Park, an independent collection of business that operate from the northern portion of FAU’s campus.

An after-hours grand opening party, where they’ll serve catering menu items and beverages, is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m., said Suzanne Bonhoure, the franchisee and a Boynton Beach resident.

“There were requests to the franchise owners for a Boca Raton location,” Bonhoure said. “We’ve gotten a great mix of people so far.”

The cafe, with locations in West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Jupiter and Delray Beach, is known for its wraps, smoothies and salads. But the Boca Raton location, which previously housed a pizza place, will cater to its surroundings with other unique menu options.

“People keep coming in asking for pizza,” Bonhoure said. “We’re working on some healthy flatbread options … We’ve got two pizza ovens that we’ll take advantage of.”

Like the other Nature’s Way Cafe locations, the Boca Raton restaurant will offer carrot juice, but also other fruit and wheat juices, Bonhoure said.

She hopes the convenient location on FAU’s campus, which has its own parking spaces that do not require passes or permits, will draw local business as well as health-crazed college students.

Said Bonhoure: “We’ve been very busy so far, which is a good sign.”
