The area was supposed to reopen Wednesday morning, but now will reopen at 4 a.m. Thursday.

Crews have faced mechanical problems and higher-than-expected downtime because of rail traffic, and paving has not yet been completed, according to a project engineer at the work site.

Florida Highway Patrol and the Boca Raton Police Department will continue to help with traffic until the work is completed.
