BOCA RATON — If you’re looking for the Hello Kitty Cafe pop-up truck in Boca Raton this weekend, it’ll be hard to miss.
The giant pink van that roves throughout the country and serves up Hello Kitty-themed desserts is making its first local appearance at the Town Center Mall, at 6000 Glades Road, on Saturday, Oct. 15. You’ll find the food truck just outside Crate & Barrel.
The truck carries Hello Kitty gear, like mugs, T-shirts and pins, but is best known for its themed sweets, like macaroons, tart and apple pie. Since 2014, it’s been spotted in cities throughout the country.
The Hello Kitty Cafe will be in Boca Raton between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. for one day only, but it might close down early if everything sells out, the food truck’s Facebook page warns.
When the Hello Kitty Cafe stopped in Chicago in August, people started lining up five hours before it opened, the Chicago Tribune reported. The truck was sold out with eight hours.
The truck heads to Miami the following Saturday for an appearance at Dadeland Mall.
