DELRAY BEACH — For 20 years, Cason United Methodist Church has marked the beginning of fall with rows and rows of bright, orange pumpkins. This year was no different.

The annual Pumpkin Patch, which benefits several local nonprofits as well as the longtime church, opened Sunday and will continue through October. The proceeds go toward Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, Florida United Methodist Children’s Home and Fisher House Foundation Housing for Veterans’ Families, among others.

The church is also holding its 2nd annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The festival, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., includes carnival-style games, a dunk tank, a 100-foot slide, face painting, hay rides and more, according to event organizers. Entrance into the event is free, but a wristband for all attractions costs $10.

“It’s fun for all ages,” said Deborah Sargeant, an organizer. “It’s an old-fashioned kind of carnival.”
