DELRAY BEACH — Old School Square is known for its holiday parades and popular 100-foot tree lighting ceremony during Christmastime, but they’re adding another event to the lineup this year: a candlelight holiday concert.

While performers bellow out Christmas carols along with pop and country hits, more than 2,000 candles throughout the crowd will be lighted during the outdoor concert Saturday, Dec. 3, according to Old School Square. One of the headliners is Australia’s Little River Band, of which the sole American member, Wayne Nelson, is a Delray Beach native.

Carols by Candlelight” is the brainchild of Wayne and Steve Vaus, known for performing children’s songs as “Buck Howdy.” The touring concert raises money for various children’s nonprofits.

Also performing alongside Little River Band is singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop, Grammy-winning country singer Kim Carnes and Grammy-nominated songwriter Greg Barnhill.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased online at OldSchoolSquare.org. VIP tickets, which include alcoholic beverages and a meet-and-greet, cost $100.
