UPDATE: Hurricane threat to close Boynton facilities, parks, programs

The City of Boynton Beach, its facilities, parks and programs will close Wednesday at 6 p.m. and will continue to be closed on Thursday, because of Hurricane Matthew.

Here’s a rundown from the city:

CLOSED STARTING 6 P.M. WEDNESDAY, AND ON THURSDAY:

  • City Hall, city facilities, parks and programs, including the beach and golf course
  • The Boynton Beach Mall has rescheduled its seasonal holiday job fair to Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.

POSSIBLE OPENINGS FRIDAY

  • The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum & Learning Center if weather permits. Regularly scheduled classes have been postponed

TRASH PICK UP:

  • No pick up on Thursday
  • Residents and businesses are asked to refrain from placing trash and debris at the curb for pick-up as it can become a hazard during a hurricane and clog storm drains. If you have any further questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 561.742.6200. To report drainage issues, call the Utilities Department after-hour emergency line at 561.742.6430.
