Boca Marriott puts playful spin on election with POTUS ‘Burger Battle’

BOCA RATON — Donald Trump has a double-digit lead over Hillary Clinton in one poll — the poll that involves a perfectly-grilled burger.

OK, so it’s not a really Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, and Clinton, his Democratic counterpart. It’s two burgers, created by the restaurant at the Boca Raton Marriott, built to represent the presidential candidates in a playful spin on the election.

The hotel’s Cafe 5150 is offering the “Trump Burger,” made with char-grilled beef, bacon, onion-straws, Big Apple tomatoes and Manhattan gold cheddar cheese, and the “Clinton Burger,” an extra-grilled patty topped with Razorback bacon, Arkansas greens, Big Apple tomatoes, and onions, peppers and mushrooms sauteed in a spicy sauce.

Patrons can order one — or both — and cast their vote for the best burger through Nov. 8. Most of those polled so far, about 71 percent, preferred the Trump Burger, according to the hotel.

Part of the proceeds of the burger battle go to Shatterproof, a Connecticut-based nonprofit that aims to end drug addiction.
