Boynton Beach officials are looking for someone to develop land in the Heart of Boynton into a Cottage District. The site is at Northeast Fourth and Fifth Avenues and Seacrest Boulevard and Northeast First Street.

The Community Redevelopment Agency has been working to assemble pieces of land in the neighborhood to prepare for someone to come in and build. The agency owns about four acres of the land. Some property owners have refused to sell. The property is in an area the city officials have for years tried to develop.

Last week, the CRA board approved a request for proposals to be sent out.

Cottages to be built there can not be higher than 25 feet. Also, plans must include: decorative street lights matching ones already installed along Seacrest; minimum six-foot sidewalks; pedestrian connectivity; street trees exceeding the city’s requirements; on-street parking and landscaped open space.

Proposals are due by Nov. 16, CRA documents show.
