BOCA RATON — The annual Boca Ballroom Battle fundraiser raised a record $325,000 this year, according to event coordinators.

The competition, held Aug. 20 at the Boca Raton Resort, pitted community leaders against each other in a dance-off. More than 770 people attended the event.

All proceeds from the event benefit the George Snow Scholarship Fund, which provides local senior with four-year scholarships for higher education.

“We could not be more proud of this year’s Community Dancers. They worked so hard to learn their routines and to raise money to support the George Snow Scholarship Fund,” said Tim Snow, president of the George Snow Scholarship Fund, in a statement.

Stacey Packer, past president of the Boca’s Pine Crest Parent’s Association, won the Female Mirror Ball Trophy for raising more than $89,000. Peter Gary, founder of Boca-based Pinnacle marketing firm, was announced as the Male Mirror Ball Trophy winner for raising $117,422.50.

The volunteer dancers prepared for the event, themed “Guys vs Gals,” with lessons from Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Boca Raton.
