Candidates for Greater Boca Raton Beach and Parks District will debate tonight

boca-beach-parks-3The candidates for two empty seats on the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Parks District commission will debate tonight at the Boca Raton Community Center.

The debate begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be moderated by Randy Schultz, of Boca Raton Magazine. There are three candidates for each empty seat on the commission. The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Parks District collects taxes and is responsible for public parks and beaches in Boca Raton and areas west of Boca.

Contenders for Seat 3 on the commission are incumbent Earl Starkoff; John Costello, an accountant; and Erin Wright, a local business owner. Contenders for Seat 1 on the commission are incumbent Dennis Frisch; Craig Ehrnst, treasurer at a Boca Raton-based insurance firm; and Shayla Enright, a medical physicist.

The applicants running will be on the primary ballot Aug. 30.
