Boynton police: Light red nearly a minute when driver runs it, hits car

The Boynton Beach Police Department has posted a video from July 20 on their Facebook page of a driver running a red light at Congress Avenue and Woolbright Road.

The light was red for 58 seconds before the driver of the 2003 Lincoln Town Car drove into a 2013 Lexus ES350.

No one was injured, police said.

Here’s the video:

Here’s what the post on the Boynton Beach Police Facebook page says:

“In our ongoing effort to keep you safe and informed, our Traffic Unit will be sharing videos of red light camera violations on a regular basis. We hope that these videos create a constructive dialogue about the dangers of distracted driving. We all need to slow down, put the cell phones down and pay attention to everything going on around us. Lives depend on it. ‪#‎slowdown‬ ‪#‎savinglives‬ ‪#‎distracteddriving‬ ‪#‎redlightcameras‬ ‪#‎bbpdpride‬
