Have you noticed? The tanks are gone.

The tanks at the AmeriGas site on Federal Highway in Boynton Beach have been removed.

Residents for years have complained and voiced concerns about the property— citing both safety and appearance.

In June, the city’s elected officials sitting as the Community Redevelopment Agency board voted to buy the .62-acre site from the company for $625,000. Part of the deal was the company would remove the tanks.

The property could be used as green space, as a new spot for fire station 1, or it could be sold for commercial development.
