UPDATE on June 22, 2016: The Boynton Beach City Commission also signed off on the project at Tuesday’s meeting.
ORIGINAL POST on May 29, 2016: The historic Ruth Jones Cottage at 480 E. Ocean Ave. is on its way to becoming a tapas restaurant.
The Boynton Beach planning and development board voted this past week in support of the owner’s plan to add 525 square feet of enclosed dining space to the 936-square-foot property.
The Cottage was bought by Richard Lucibella and Barbara Ceuleers and it’ll be leased to Lisa Mercado, the owner of The Living Room on Congress Avenue. Before this, it was home to the Little House tavern and cafe.
The owner will also slightly modify the covered deck seating and fully enclose the space for additional indoor dining, according to documents.
Commissioners will vote on the project June 21, according to the documents.
