The Caridad Center, a free health clinic in suburban Boynton Beach, was given $112,000 from the Boca West Community Charitable Foundation on May 12.

Some of the money given was a donation from a couple that lives in the Boca West Country Club. That money will go to equipping a pediatric dental room in the new addition under construction at the Center.

The rest of the money will be used for, according to a news release:

  • to provide free medical and dental care to 400 children
  • give 25 families with children at risk for obesity or chronic disease individual family counseling to prevent the onset of debilitating conditions
  •  offer 500 children screenings for obesity and chronic conditions and find them care, when needed
  •  provide disease prevention education to 1500 at risk children and emergency assistance to 500 families

The Center is at 8645 W. Boynton Beach Blvd. For information, visit www.caridad.org.
