UPDATE: PBSO let Boynton cop go at scene of prostitution sting

UPDATE: After offering an undercover sheriff’s deputy $20 for oral sex in in the October prostitution sting, Vintyre Finney was placed in cuffs. He then said he was a Boynton Beach police officer, that it was a “mistake” and that he was “joking.” Deputies called sheriff’s Sgt. Oscar Cardenas and told him Finney was an officer. Cardenas told them to release Finney, according to documents.

Cardenas admitted to investigators that he told deputies to release Finney. He said he made his decision based on Finney’s service to the community, and the unfair media portrayal he and his family would receive, the documents say.

ORIGINAL POST: An eight-year Boynton Beach Police Officer has been fired after he was caught in a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s undercover prostitution sting in October.

Vintyre Finney violated two departmental policies – conduct unbecoming a police officer and conformance to law, according to a news release from the police department.

He was fired April 11.

Finney offered an undercover deputy $20 in exchange for oral sex, according to police documents.
